UPDATED: The playwright, actor and theater director's Forbidden Broadway Broadway debut -- Forbidden Broadway on Broadway: Merrily We Stole a Song -- will now begin previews two weeks earlier than previously announced. Previews begin July 15th for an Aug. 5th opening at the Hayes Theatre (240 W. 44th St.) and limited run through Nov. 1, 2024. In addition to the five-person cast including the onstage pianist, weekly guest stars will appear throughout the engagement. The cast and the rest of the creative team are TBA.

During its 77th edition (Aug. 7-17) the Locarno Film Festival's Pardo d'Onore Manor -- the award for outstanding achievement in cinema -- will be given to the internationally acclaimed filmmaker from New Zealand on Friday evening, Aug. 16th in the Piazza Grande outdoor venue. The Festival will feature screenings of two of her celebrated titles selected by the director herself: An Angel at My Table (1990) and The Piano (1993), the latter presented in a new 4K restoration that will make its debut on the Piazza Grande the night she receives her award. The audience will have an opportunity to meet CAMPION on Saturday, Aug. 17 in a panel conversation at the Forum @ Spazio Cinema.

Academy Award nominated Rachel McAdams' transformative performances have established her as one of Hollywood's most sought-after and respected actors.?

McAdams was born and raised in a small town outside of London, Ontario. Involved with theater growing up, she went on to graduate with honors with a BFA degree in Theater from York University.

Following starmaking turns in Tina Fey's original Mean Girls and Nick Cassavetes’ The Notebook opposite Ryan Gosling, in 2005, McAdams received ShoWest's Supporting Actress of the Year Award as well as the Breakthrough Actress of the Year at the Hollywood Film Awards. In 2009, she was awarded with ShoWest's Female Star of the Year.
 
McAdams most recently earned critical acclaim for her starring role in the film adaptation of Judy Blume’s best-selling novel Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret.
